Services and Support

Voluntary Action Kennet is a member of the National Association for Voluntary and Community Action, and as such its role is to support and develop the voluntary sector in the rural district of Kennet.

VAK has six main areas of work:

- Project Support, offering hands-on support to local voluntary groups.

- Learning & Training, providing relevant training events and needs-led training to groups in partnership with Learning Curve.

- Information and Resources, we have a well stocked library and provide access to equipment such as display boards, OHPs, photocopier, etc. We also publish a newsletter every quarter.

- Enabling Representation, we are involved in supporting the voluntary sector to have there say in the development of local health, community and government plans.

- Community Development, offering support to local people to develop services to meet their needs.

- Strategic Partnerships, ensuring the voice of the voluntary sector is represented at county strategic meetings, e.g. Wiltshire Strategic Partnership.
