Stay and Play Sessions: Little Flyers Pre-school, Upavon

Tuesday Afternoons from 1:30pm-3pm

Come along to Stay and Play on Tuesday afternoons at Little Flyers Pre-school (based in Upavon Primary School) where the Children's Centre organise Stay and Play sessions as part of the outreach services. There will be a range of activities, both indoor and outdoor for pre-school age children with a different theme every week, run by an experienced pre-school leader. Cost is £1 per child per session.

The sessions will be structured to allow you to help and encourage your child in early exploration and play activities, for example rhyme-time, messy play, arts and crafts, sand and water and outdoor play. Cold drinks and a snack will be available. You will be required to stay with your child at all times.

You do not have to stay for the whole session or come every week if you do not wish to, however we do ask that you let us know if you intend coming as we have a limit of 25 places available at any one time.

Pewsey Community Area Mobile Toy Library

The Pewsey Community Area Toy Library brings a selection of toys out to villages which can be loaned on a monthly basis for a small charge. The toys range from large items such as a slide, play tunnels and tents and parachute (perfect for parties!) to jigsaw puzzles, games and baby toys. The hire of toys is subject to Terms and Conditions of Membership (lifetime membership costs £5 per family) and we have a large range of toys available. Please let us know if you are looking for something in particular, as we only take a selection to the villages so we may still be able to help!

The Toy Library sessions are the perfect opportunity to meet other parents, have a cup of tea and let your children play. Come along with the kids and have a fun morning!

Childminders' Drop-in

Approximately every third Friday of the month at Pewsey Library

Pewsey is home to a close network of childminders who look after a large number of children of all ages. Pewsey Children's Centre wanted to offer a service exclusively for this group, and together with Pewsey Library came up with the idea of a Drop-in session.

These Drop-in sessions have become a regular fixture, happening once a month, usually on the third Friday - see below for the next few dates. Glenda O'Connor from Pewsey Library runs the sessions with a mixture of songs, rhymes and stories and Pewsey Children's Centre organise and facilitate an art and craft activity and provide the refreshments. The sessions are often themed, and continue throughout the year - a very popular Teddy Bears Picnic was held during the summer holidays.

All childminders are welcome, together with the children in their care - it is an informal morning, so come along for coffee, meet other childminders and your children can have fun in a safe and sociable setting.

For more information contact Louise Oliver on 01672 564140.
