About Voluntary Action Kennet
Voluntary Action Kennet is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee. We promote and support the voluntary and community sector in Kennet. Please click Services and Support to find out more.
We are also known as a Council for Voluntary Service. We have Investor in People and in October 2005 were awarded the Matrix quality standard for learning and work.
Voluntary Action Kennet is keen to be responsive to members needs and with over 200 members we can be involved in lots of different ways. Please click Membership to find out more.
We are a democratic organisation. The Board of Trustees is elected by the membership organisations at the Annual General Meeting. We are funded through a three-way service level agreement with Wiltshire County Council, Kennet District Council and Wiltshire Primary Care Trust. We also have funding from the Community Fund, LloydsTSB Foundation, ChangeUp, DEFRA, Wiltshire County Council, specific pieces of contracted work, and from some charged services.
Find out more about us by clicking on the links to the left of this page. If you would like to contact us we would be pleased to hear from you.
Voluntary Action Kennet works through outreach, bringing its services into the community. Our office is based in Pewsey, but we are able to deliver support and training where it is most accessible, be it in your offices, home or village hall.
VAK does not itself provide funding for local groups, but we do offer groups support around fundraising, and have links with Wiltshire Charities Information Bureau.
